In the classroom
I work as a teacher’s assistant at schools in Winterthur: in kindergarten and primary classes, with children who need more support, and wherever an extra pair of hands makes the difference. Even as a teenager I had a way with kids – especially the shy ones, who blossom with a bit of patience and imagination.
What I bring
- Patience. Children need time – and healthy pressure, not constant pressure.
- Clear structure. Short instructions, steady rituals, then let go.
- Play and movement. Football coaching taught me: kids who move, learn better.
- A backpack full of games and songs. I have collected them for years – by now in my own app KidsPlayCollection, so they are at hand at the right moment.
The detour through philosophy
I studied philosophy in Groningen, with nine months in Spain. Analytical thinking, close reading, testing arguments – it shapes how I talk with children: take them seriously, ask back, never brush them off.
